You probably figured out that my household consists of two adult humans and three canine knuckleheads. And as much we try and to the disappointment to the four-legged members of our family, sometimes food has to get tossed.
There are many reasons for this, everything from it was awful to we just ate the same thing for a week and frankly I can’t take it anymore. So when something gets eaten in full by two human adults in a short amount of time I usually feel good in saying that this recipe is a keeper.
Pretty good since I just picked it by chance because I had to make something especially husband friendly due to the fact I made a salad containing eggplant and tomatoes (recipe coming soon) which he dislikes greatly and wouldn’t eat but was so yummy one human adult ate it all up!
The recipe was from Willow Bird Baking, it had multiple steps but it was not to difficult to follow and well worth it in the end. The crust was fantastic and I think I will use it again in something else and if we lived in a perfect world I would have skipped the almonds or maybe use pecans but since this was mainly for the other human in our house and he likes almonds and scoffs at pecans I went with it. I included the link to the recipe and please don’t mind my photo of the pie’s crust on one side. This human doesn’t know her own strength sometimes and with oven mitts on, oh my, no pastry is safe.
Thanks Willow Bird Baking! Enjoy!
It came out BEAUTIFULLY! I’m so glad you enjoyed it! And super glad you loved the pie crust — it’s my absolute favorite.
This was so delicious we had it gobbled up in an embarrassingly short amount of time.
