What after the iPad for Apple

Sign in with Apple on the iPad

With “Sign in with Apple” you can sign in to participating apps and websites with your Apple ID. You don't have to create new passwords and your account is protected by two-factor authentication.

“Sign in with Apple” is designed to protect your privacy. Apps and websites can only ask for your name and email address to set up your account. Apple will not track your activity when you use these apps and websites.

Set up or update an account using the “Sign in with Apple” option

If a participating app or website prompts you to set up or update an account, do the following:

  1. Tap Sign In With Apple.

  2. Follow the instructions displayed.

Some apps (and websites) don't ask for your name or email address. In this case, you authenticate yourself with Face ID or Touch ID (depending on your model) and then start the app.

Others may ask for your name and email address to set up a personalized account. When an app asks for this information, Sign In with Apple will display your name and personal email address for your Apple ID account so you can verify it.

To edit your name, tap the name, then use the keyboard to make changes.

Do one of the following to provide an email address:

  • Use your personal email address: Tap Share Email Address.

If your Apple ID has multiple email addresses associated with it, select the address you want.

  • Hide your email address: Tap on "Hide Email Address".

This option allows you to receive emails from the app without sharing your personal email address. If you select this option, Apple will create a unique, random email address for you, and the emails sent by the app to this address will be forwarded to your personal address.

After reviewing your information and choosing an email option, tap Continue. Authenticate with Face ID or Touch ID (depending on your model) and start using the app.

Sign in to access your account

After you have set up an account in an app or on a website with "Sign in with Apple", it is usually not necessary to sign in again on the iPad. But if you're asked to log in (for example, after logging out of an account), do the following:

  1. Tap Sign In With Apple.

  2. Check the displayed Apple ID and tap "Continue".

  3. Authenticate yourself using Face ID or Touch ID (depending on your model).

  1. Select "Settings"> "[your name] ">" Name, phone numbers, email ">" Forward to ".

  2. Choose a different email address and tap Done.
