Which companies have the best loyalty programs

The best airline loyalty programs in Europe

One way to make business travel a little more enjoyable is to earn loyalty points with airlines.

You get free access to nicer lounges, better seating and sometimes even a free flight to use on an upcoming vacation. Great is not it?

Every company has different rules for collecting and redeeming loyalty points, so be sure to check with your travel or office manager first. A general rule of thumb is that if the flight is no more than 10% more expensive than other airlines, it's okay to book your preferred airline. However, some companies require that you always book the cheapest option - with no exceptions.

With TravelPerk, travelers can save the details of their loyalty programs so that points are automatically accumulated every time (if possible). The more loyalty programs, the better!

Below is information on the best frequent flyer programs in Europe, including partner airlines, destinations and awards.

But how do you choose the right program? The only way to get great benefits is to fly often. So choose the program whose airlines you will fly with frequently.

Most airlines are part of an alliance and the loyalty program partners overlap. We did the hard work for you and picked the best of the best programs ..

Flying Blue

Flying Blue is Air France and KLM's frequent flyer program. One of the great things about Flying Blue is that you can also earn points when you fly with one of the many partner airlines. The program allows you to earn airline miles for every euro you spend, which can be used for class changes and new trips!

Certain tiers of Flying Blue also give you access to the airport lounges and offer great discounts on seating options. If Paris and Amsterdam are your hotspots, then there is no reason not to sign up.

Partner Airlines:
  • Joon
  • Tarom
  • Transavia
  • Kenya Airlines

XP can be gained in many ways. For example, you can get 5 XP on an economy flight under 2,000 miles (approx. 3,200 km) and 36 XP on a business class flight over 5,000 miles (approx. 8,000 km). All the ways to earn XP can be found here.

Other great benefits of Flying Blue are free airport transfers for Gold and Platinum members from Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly. The full list of benefits can be found here.

Flying Club

You can also earn miles on Delta Air flights with the Virgin Atlantic Flying Club. Unfortunately, having tea with Sir Richard Branson isn't one of the perks, but there are plenty of other cool perks such as emergency exit seats and premium check-in.

Have you always wanted to chill out at the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse instead of the usual Heathrow Terminal chaos? Now is your chance. The chic clubhouse is not only intended for holders of first-class tickets, but is also open to Gold Tier members of the Flying Club. So if UK and Asian destinations are part of your regular Virgin Atlantic routes, consider signing up. What's even better is that you have the freedom to choose your seat on every flight.

Miles & More

If Zurich or Frankfurt (or almost all cities in the USA) are a regular travel destination for you, Miles & More is the right choice. With so many partners in the Star Alliance, it would be almost stupid not to sign up and start earning points. The outstanding benefits of this program are the upgrades and priority check-in. Even better: You can redeem mileage points in over 300,000 hotels worldwide.

In any comparison of airline rewards programs, this program ranks at the top simply because there are so many major airline affiliates.

To receive benefits with the Executive Club, you need a lot of Tier Points. It is really complicated to calculate how many Tier Points you will get for a flight, so complicated that there is an online calculator you can use. The following example shows what Tier points are worth and how you can reach a new level: A flight with British Airways from SFO to London Heathrow gives you 20 points in Economy Low and 90 points in Premium Economy.

While Tier Points can help you get more perks at new levels, the points you spend on things like flights and cabin upgrades are called Avios.

Avios points can be used for vacations, hotels, car rental and more. With the option of pooling Avios points in a household of 6, this program is ideal for anyone who regularly travels with their children in addition to their usual business trips.

TrueBlue

Would you like to receive points for taking surveys? You can! Surveys aren't very fun, but if you can earn points for them ... they're probably bearable. Otherwise, you can fly with JetBlue to collect TrueBlue points. So if you fly with the airline more often, just register.

For every sixth flight with Norwegian, you will receive a bonus in addition to the CashPoints, which will earn you + 2% CashPoints for every further flight (or partner purchase).

If you book 6 flights again, you can use them to shorten waiting times at security checks or to reserve seats for free on all future flights.
