Screwdriver handle for bit

Contribution from xrated »24 Mar 2019, 11:22 pm

Hello
Unfortunately I lost something and I can't remember the manufacturer, which I don't think is so well known.

A set of bits with a screwdriver handle and a relatively long blade. The special thing was that a silent ratchet was built in there. And also very smooth. You could switch with a black twist grip. The color of the handle was red.

Does anyone know that?

Do you mean this one? Silent sliding ratchet with right, fixed, left function.

Something like this:

The name came to my mind, Signet. Unfortunately not in their program anymore.

That's really annoying, there doesn't seem to be anything comparable on the market. Allegedly, the mechanics with rollers should wear out faster, but it has held up with me for decades with admittedly seldom use.

Do you also have a source of supply for that? At Amazon, the slim should cost € 119.95.
And above all: does it also have a "stepless" ratchet?

I use a Witte Bitdrive myself. "Back then" it was one of the first on the market. Unfortunately, the ratchet division is quite rough, and it's not really easy either - but a bit holder in the handle.

Ratchet screwdriver is the only tool I have exclusively in cheap. But at least it can be bent. It is from the € 150 case that I "indulged" as an initial set up ages ago. I use it very seldom ...

Hi,

The PB Swiss is not "stepless" or "gear-less", I have one or two numbers shorter: PB 8510.R-30. But, from the "feel" point of view, the most valuable / cleanest mechanism that I know of "ratchet screwdrivers. Screwing with it is really fun, only the handle is unfortunately not my favorite. It's good, no question about it - but I like snap-ons "Instinct" and Classic handles simply prefer.

Left: Snap-On SGDMRC11AG
From top to bottom: Snap-On SSDMR4B (Renault / RB Racing), Bosch (Wera Pop-Up, Rapidaptor bit holder (long) removable), PB Swiss Tools PB 8510.R-30, Snap-On SGDQ16KT (Wera Pop-Up , Rapidaptor bit holder (long) removable), Festool Centrotec (Wiha Soft Grip).

You can buy PB e.g. here:

Unfortunately the time to edit is exceeded. I just see that "screwdriver.shop" is the new name of (m) a dealer from whom I have already bought PB Swiss. Is recommended / reliable! (In case anyone wonders.)

Best wishes,
Oliver
