The Nintendo DS Lite has WiFi

Connect Nintendo DS Lite to WiFi - you have to pay attention to this

Only a few steps are necessary to connect your Nintendo DS Lite to the Internet via WLAN. Read here what you have to pay attention to.

Automatically configure the Wi-Fi connection of the Nintendo DS Lite

Since the Nintendo DS Lite itself does not have a separate setup program for wireless connections, a game that can access the Internet is essential:

  1. In the game's menu, find and select the "Wi-Fi" item. Then open the "Nintendo WFC Setup".
  2. Select "Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Settings" and one of three storage locations.
  3. Select "Find Access Point" to have the Nintendo DS Lite automatically search for available access points. Then select the desired WLAN from the list.
  4. If the access point is protected with a WEP key, you have to enter it now. Confirm with OK.". Note that the Nintendo DS Lite only supports the WEP encryption protocol, not WPA or WPA2.
  5. Wait for the connection test to complete successfully.

Manually configure the WLAN connection of the DS Lite

If the automatic search was not successful, you can also define the settings of the access point manually:

  1. In the menu of a game with WiFi support, look for the item "Wi-Fi" and select it. Then open the "Nintendo WFC Setup".
  2. Select "Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Settings" and one of three storage locations.
  3. Select "Manual Setup". Enter the SSID, the WEP key and (if necessary) the IP address, the subnet mask, the gateway and the primary and secondary DNS server. Note that the Nintendo DS Lite only supports the WEP encryption protocol, not WPA or WPA2.
  4. You can test the settings with the "Test connection" button. With "Save settings" you complete the manual configuration.
